The National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has sued for peace among party members in the zone as the party prepares for next elections. Tukur made this call as leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West converged in Abuja on Thursday to resolve the lingering crisis rocking the state chapters of the party in the zone,
Arriving at the Transcorp Hotel venue of the meeting with members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, Tukur appealed to all members to forget the past and embrace each other so as to allow peace to reign in the party once again. He made it clear that only genuine and total reconciliation among warring members of the party would make the zone and the party to make any headway in the forthcoming elections.
He was full of praises to conveners of the peace meeting which he said, came at a crucial time that reconciliation was in progress at all levels in the party.
Meanwhile, the chairman on the occasion, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun said that the meeting was fixed for Abuja in order to ensure full attendance of members and was neither summoned to apportion blames on individuals or group nor to erode the power of the Zonal Working Committee (ZWC) in the Zone.
